Palestinians housed in Jilin and Tseil, in southern Syria, have been enduring dire circumstances as ISIS militias tightened grip on the area.
A tight cordon has been imposed on Jilin and Tseil, among other areas in Deraa’s western outskirts, by the ISIS-affiliated Khaled Ibn AlWaleed battalion following deadly hostilities with the government squads.
AGPS news correspondent quoted sources in Tseil, northwest of Deraa, as stating that over the past couple of days a mass abduction sweep had been launched Khaled Ibn AlWaleed militia against local residents on allegations of affiliations or collaboration with the regime army. Two girls were kidnapped by ISIS on claims that their father fought alongside the regime troops.
A massacre perpetrated by ISIS in Jilin a few days ago, shortly before their retreat from the town, took away the lives of dozens of civilians. Several others, including Palestinian refugees Faraj Mohamed Faraj and Faris Ali AlGhazawi, were kidnapped in the process.
Located 25 kilometers away from northwestern Deraa city center, Jilin is a home to some 500 Palestinian families, mostly from 1948 Occupied Palestine, the occupied West Bank, and the blockaded Gaza Strip. Tseil town accommodates some 120 Palestinian families.
