PLA groups, among other pro-government battalions, were reportedly responsible for the offensive.
Residential neighborhoods in Yarmouk Camp were also targeted with sniper bullets in the process.
At the same time, violent clashes flared up at the municipality crossroads in Palestine Street between the government patrols and AlKara’ine anti-government battalion. The clashes stretched to AlSpourat Street and AlAmeen Oven, in AlTadhamun quarter.
Bloody clashes with ISIS further hit AlHajar AlAswad, south of Yarmouk.
According to local sources, a sniper from Tahrir AlSham Commission shot an ISIS fighter on the main access road to Yarmouk, near AlShuhadaa Square.
A tough blockade has been slapped on Yarmouk Camp by the regime army and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command for 1,353 days running. ISIS militias have also grabbed hold of large areas of the camp since early April 2015.
3,000 to 5,000 civilians have been taking refuge in Yarmouk Camp.
