Situation of Palestinians from Syria in Burj AlBarajneh Camp Exacerbated by Security Turmoil

A state of terror swamped Burj AlBarajneh Camp, in Beirut, as a result of the security mayhem that flared up in the area following clashes between Lebanese nationals from Al Jaafar family and Palestinian young men from AlKafas family.

Heavy machinegun and rocket-propelled grenades along with sniper attacks were recorded in the clashes, leaving a number of refugees dead and others wounded.

Speaking with AGPS, Palestinian refugees from Syria expressed deep concern over the deadly repercussions of the security turmoil.

350 Palestinian families from Syria have sought shelter in AlBarajneh Camp after they fled war-torn Syria for fear of being killed in the raging warfare. Dozens fled the camp via the “death-boats” while others returned to Syria, having no other place to take cover in.
