Hazima fled Jaramana Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Rif Dimashq, for fear of being killed in the raging warfare. He had gone through a journey fraught with danger, moving from one destination to another, before he ultimately disembarked in Germany.
Hazima started a sports career in Syria, where he worked as a coach in sports clubs in Jaramana and AlHusseiniya camps, in Rif Dimashq. He earned a diploma in training and physical fitness and took part in several Arab and international championships.
According to unofficial statistics, over 85,000 Palestinians from Syria fled to Europe.
