Palestinians Demand to Disclose the Fate of Detainees, after Leaks about Burning the Detainees’ Bodies in Sednaya Prison

Families of the Palestinian Syrian and the Syrian Detainees launched an appeal through AGPS for the United Nations and all the International and Humanitarian organizations to put pressure on the Syrian Regime for releasing all detainees and disclose their fate and whereabouts. According to one of the detainees’ relatives, that their fear on their sons increased after they heard that the Syrian Regime burnt detainees’ bodies in the military Sednaya prison north of Damascus.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera Channel reported that USA revealed evidence favoring that the Syrian Regime carried out massive executions burning the bodies in a large crematorium. The UN announced that all the perpetrators of the war crimes should hold accountable.

Stuart Jones, the top U.S. diplomat for the Middle East, said Washington's information came from credible humanitarian agencies and from the US "intelligence community" and it is thought that as many as 50 people per day are being hanged at Saydnaya military prison, about 45 minutes from Damascus. He showed the journalists satellite photographs since 2015 where they show the heat from inside the construction.

AGPS demanded that the Syrian Regime to release and disclose the situation of hundreds of Palestinian detainees, insuring that what is going on the Syrian Prisons for the Palestinians is considered a war crime with all standards.

It is worthy to mention that Amnesty International issued earlier a report that exposes the Syrian government’s calculated campaign of extrajudicial executions by mass hangings at Saydnaya Prison. Between 2011 and 2015, every week and often twice a week, groups of up to 50 people were taken out of their prison cells and hanged to death. In five years, as many as 13,000 people, most of them civilians believed to be opposed to the government, were hanged in secret at Saydnaya.
