Civilians Displaced from Khan AlSheih Camp Launch Cry for Help

Hundreds of civilians displaced from Khan AlSheih Camp to the northern Syrian province of Idlib sounded distress signals over the abject living conditions they have been made to endure in the area due to the price hike and the lack of humanitarian assistance by UNRWA, among other relief institutions.

The displaced families urged UNRWA to take up its duties and work out the crises endured by the Palestinian refugee community in Idlib without further delay.

In letters emailed to AGPS, the displaced Palestinian families said they have not received aids, neither in-kind nor cash, from UNRWA as Idlib falls outside the agency’s field of operations.

As of November 28, 2016, some 2,500 Palestinian refugees had been forcibly displaced from Khan AlSheih to Idlib following a reconciliation deal between the Syrian government and opposition outfits.
