Syria’s Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs, Ali Haidar, said, during a meeting with the head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) office in Syria, Mohammed Adar, that the government has taken a decision to return the locals who were displaced from AlSbeina area, in Rif Dimashq, to their homes.
According to Haidar, the reason for the delay lies in the presence of armed militias on the outskirts of the area. He added that efforts have been ongoing to address the situation and rehabilitate the infrastructure.
UNRWA’s head of Syria office, Mohammed Adar, said the agency is ready to provide the necessary support to reconstruct Palestinian refugee camps and rehabilitate the infrastructure, which includes schools, hospitals, and services for the refugees, so as to smooth civilians’ safe return to their homes.
