Pro-Gov’t Sources: Retreat of ISIS, AlNusra from Yarmouk Camp Deferred

Sources affiliated with the Syrian government said on Sunday that the retreat of ISIS and Tahrir AlSham fighters from Yarmouk was delayed due to security and military reasons.

Secretary of the Alliance of Palestinian Forces in Syria, Khaled Abdul Majid, said preparations will be ongoing to ensure the retreat of ISIS fighters to the right place and at the right time.

He added that AlNusra fighters in Yarmouk, Beit Sahem, Yalda, and Babila will leave the camp in the near future as part of the four-town agreement which stipulates that wounded and sick people along with a number of families be allowed access out of Kafriya and AlFou’a.

According to Abdul Majid, the list includes 130 combatants from AlNusra in Yarmouk and 2,000 from ISIS in Yarmouk and AlHajar AlAswad.

Abdul Majid added that half of ISIS militants agreed to work out their situation and remain in AlHajar AlAswad. The rest of combatants will retreat from AlHajar AlAswad and Yarmouk.

Activists said buses have been spotted near the main entrances to the camp, paving the way for the sudden retreat of AlNusra militias and the takeover of the Syrian government troops and their partners.
