ISIS has tightened the noose around civilians’ neck in Alrija, Haifa Street, and Safouriya, west of Yarmouk Camp for Palestinian refugees, on claims that the aforementioned zones are run by Fatah AlSham rivals.
A couple of days earlier, ISIS militias stole civilians’ foodstuff after families who returned to their homes in Fatah AlSham-run zones were allowed to enter one kilogram and a half of food items.
According to eye-witnesses, ISIS insulted the residents on their way out of and into AlMadaris checkpoint. ISIS announced its intent to close the checkpoint once and for all by the end of Ramadan.
ISIS has grabbed hold of large part of Yarmouk since the group’s infiltration into the camp in early April 2016. Ever since, fierce clashes have flared up between ISIS and Tahrir AlSham across Yarmouk. Several civilians were pronounced dead and others wounded in the clashes.
