Severe Health Deterioration of one of the Detainees who are in a Hunger Strike in Karmouz Prison in Egypt.

Karmouz prison in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, witnessed at dawn yesterday, a deterioration in the health of a Palestinian detainees who are on hunger strike for (12) days, as the officer in charge of the prison call an ambulance to transfer him to the hospital. Dozens of Palestinian and Syrian refugees continue their hunger strike until achieving their demand to be transferred to the European countries where their relatives reside.

For her turn, the media department official Assistant at the UNHCR, Marwa Hashim, said, in a press statement to an Egyptian newspaper: "The Commission is monitoring the situation closely to ensure the immediate humanitarian response in a coordinated way, as well as it provided them with medical, psychological and social support through its partners, in addition, it provided them with food for those who did not participate in the hunger strike. She also added, "the Commission is to continue its dialogue with the authorities for the release of the entire detained group".

It should be noted that the Egyptian authorities have arrested "56" Palestinian refugees from Syria while trying to reach Italy from Turkish beaches 112 days ago, the refugees were victims of a scam smugglers who left them on an island off the Egyptian beaches.
