Fierce clashes burst out between ISIS and the anti-government Jaysh AlIslam battalion in AlBasateen, in AlZein neighborhood, located between Yalda and AlHajar AlAswad. A fighter from Jaysh AlIslam was pronounced dead. Injuries were reported on both sides.
At the same time, dozens of civilians fled Yarmouk Camp to the nearby towns of Yalda, Babila, and Beit Sahem so as to mark Eid AlFitr after ISIS tightened the noose around civilians’ necks and stepped up crackdowns in the camp.
The joy of Eid for 3,000 Palestinians seeking shelter in Yarmouk and over 10,000 others taking cover in Babila, Yalda, and Beit Sahem, has been marred by the tough blockade and the tragic humanitarian situation rocking the area.
