The Syrian actress Yara Sabri, who is also an activist speaking up for prisoners in Syrian jails, quoted an ex-detainee as stating that two Palestinians sheltered in Yarmouk Camp died under torture in Syrian penitentiaries.
In a statement posted on social media, Sabri identified the victims of torture as 29-year-old Mohamed Abdul Fatah and Ahmed Amayri, aged 35. The latter was reportedly identified in pictures of victims of torture leaked from Syrian government lock-ups.
The two victims, among other detainees, were spotted in the National Defense office and Branch 227 between 2015 and the end of 2016.
AGPS kept record of the incarceration of 1,613 Palestinian refugees in Syrian prisons, among whom 100 women and girls. 462 Palestinians died under torture in those penitentiaries.
