Ex-Detainee: 4 Palestinian Refugees Recently Spotted in Syrian Gov’t Jails

Human rights activists quoted a newly-released detainee as stating that he met four Palestinians in the National Civil Defense center and Branch 227 between 2015 and 2016.

The four arrestees were identified as: 28-year-old Mahmoud AlUmra, 31-year-old Mohamed Ramadan, Mohamed Hadaba, aged 37, and Iyad Jalbout, 24. They are residents of Yarmouk Camp, south of Damascus.

Affidavits by ex-detainees provided evidence on the death of several Palestinians under torture in Syrian government penitentiaries.

AGPS kept record of the incarceration of 1,615 Palestinian refugees in Syrian prisons. Their fate remains shrouded in mystery.
