Hundreds of Palestinians from Syria Refuse to Join Pro-Gov’t Palestine Liberation Army

The Syrian government forces continue to drag Palestinian refugees to mandatory military conscription, forcing dozens to become internally displaced and dozens more to seek refuge in other countries.

According to activists, Palestinian refugees have been reluctant to join the pro-regime Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) after it turned out that the latter has been involved in war crimes against civilians all the way through the Syrian warfare.

Other refugees expressed their unyielding commitment to neutrality and disarmament in the raging conflict, believing that the Israeli occupation is their sole enemy.

According to field activists, several Palestinian conscripts were killed by the opposition outfits while fighting alongside the government troops.

Hundreds of refugees have been kidnapped at government-run checkpoints and forced to carry out mandatory conscription. Dozens more were kidnapped from their homes and shelters to that very end.

For Palestinian refugees in Syria aged 18 or above recruitment at PLA is mandatory.
