The Syrian government forces struck on Wednesday Daraa Camp for Palestinian refugees, south of Syria, with a round of mortar shells, resulting in heavy material damage.
The onslaught, which rocked residential neighborhoods in Daraa Camp and other adjacent areas, represents a flagrant violation of the ceasefire pledge made by the Syrian government sometime later and put into effect as of Sunday, July 9.
The truce announced on the sidelines of G20 Summit hosted by Hamburg following talks between the US and Russia, culminated in an agreement to cease hostilities in southern Syria and send monitoring forces in ceasefire zones in Daraa, AlSweida, and AlQuneitra.
