Hundreds of Palestinian Refugees Enduring Mysterious Fate in Syrian Gov’t Jails

Over 1,621 Palestinian refugees, including children, women, and elderly people, have been held in Syrian government jails, where hundreds of Palestinians have also been tortured to death.

235 Palestinian detainees are identified as residents of Khan AlSheih Camp, in Rif Dimashq, while 179 were residents of Yarmouk Camp. 187 Palestinian prisoners had, meanwhile, been taking shelter in AlAydeen Camp and 97 others in Aleppo-based AlNeirab Camp. 82 detainees were residents of Latakia’s camp of AlRaml and another 53 were residents of AlAydeen Camp in Hama.

The detainees’ fate remains shrouded in mystery. Their families continue to appeal for information. Some of the detainees’ relatives remained mum over their fates over retaliation concerns.
