ISIS Cuts off Civilian Hand on Theft Charges

Snapshots leaked by the Wilayat Dimashq website showed ISIS militants as cutting off the hand of a Yarmouk resident on charges of theft.

AGPS has frequently spoken out against the crimes perpetrated by ISIS militias ever since they held sway over Yarmouk Camp in April 2015.

One such crime occurred on May 13, 2015, when ISIS fighters cut off the hand of a Palestinian refugee called Abu Ras AlBadawi, a resident of AlHajar AlAswad, on claims of theft.

On February 13, 2017, ISIS flogged a groom and a bride from Yarmouk 18 times on claims that they tied the knot outside ISIS “religious court”. The wife had all of her hair shoved. Both were sent to prison shortly afterwards.

On the same day, ISIS executed the Palestinian refugee Hamouda Jazeera in Yarmouk.

On March 2, 2017, four Palestinian refugees—Mohamed Nassar, a refugee from Alyan family, another from AlTayeha family, and two more Palestinians affiliated with tahrir AlSham—were slaughtered by ISIS.

ISIS also continues to subject newly-released activists in Yarmouk to house arrest. Others have been kidnapped by ISIS gunmen in arbitrary abduction sweeps rocking the area.
