Palestinian Detainee Spotted in Sednaya Military Prison

Ex-detainees who have been recently released from the pro-government Sednaya military prison, north of Damascus, said Palestinian refugee Tahssin Zeyada AlSukeri, whom they met in the lock-up, is in good health.

Recently, the families of Palestinian and Syrian detainees voiced concerns over the fates of their jailed relatives in Sednaya penitentiary after the Syrian government reportedly burned prisoners’ bodies to a crisp.

In letters emailed to AGPS, the families appealed to the United Nations and all human rights institutions to unravel their relatives’ fates.

According to AGPS updated statistics, 1,628 Palestinian refugees are held in Syria jails, where 462 Palestinians also died under torture.
