Syrian medical staff started a vaccination campaign against measles at Al-Jaramk Alternative School in the town of Yilda, south of Damascus. The campaign will last four days, targeting children between the ages of 6 and 10.
A member of the medical staff said that the vaccination campaign aims to protect children's health against the diseases they are likely to catch and could have adverse effects on their growth and development. Measles and poliomyelitis are serious and rapidly spreading diseases especially in the regions under siege, that are suffering from a lack of medicine, care and medical supplies.
