In its 15th statistical documentary report published in early August, AGPS revealed that 73% of the Palestinian detainees arrested by the Syrian regime during the first half of 2017 were from the Khan al-Sheih refugee camp in the Damascus suburb.
The Action Group noted that the documentation team monitored the arrest of 15 Palestinian refugees, most of them from the Khan Al-Sheih refugee camp, at security checkpoints in all areas controlled by the regime, without distinguishing between men and women.
The report Indicated that the largest number of arrests were recorded among the residents of Khan Al-Sheih camp, where the number of detainees reached (11), followed by (3) in Al Nairab Camp and (1) in Sabina camp.
AGPS’s statistics also reveal that the first half of 2017 witnessed a decrease in the number of detained Palestinian refugees in Syria. The total number of refugees still under arrest in Syrian prisons is 1637, of which 103 are women.
