“Doctors of the World” association: Most refugees in Greece have no medical care

“Doctors of the World” humanitarian association said that the migrated refugees in Greece do not receive medical care, for most of the health conditions they are dealing with.

In a statement made by the association on Tuesday, 72% of the health conditions the refugees are suffering from are not being treated correctly, or treated at all.

Women are not seeking medical care for not knowing their rights, or believing that the health system is too complicated, or fearing detention and discrimination.

The number of trapped Palestinian-Syrians in Greece is 400 refugees, most of which are located on the islands of Lesbos, Mytilene, Chios, Leros and Kos. Among them are families, children, women and the elderly. They are distributed among refugee camps, some of them living in tents and others in large halls. Most of the refugees came from Yarmouk, Deraa, Al-Aedin and Al-Husseiniya camps in Syria.
