Palestinian university student “Ahmed Galil” detained by Syrian security for fourth consecutive year

Syrian security continues to detain Palestinian University student studying in the chemistry department “Ahmed Diab Galil” for the fourth consecutive year. The 28-year-old was taken at the 87 Khan Al-Sheih - Damascus Road checkpoint on 25th of June 2013 to an unknown place and until today his fate and location remain mysterious. He was a resident of Khan Al-Sheih camp in the suburb of Damascus.

AGPS continues to receive messages and information about Palestinian detainees and documenting them, despite the difficulties due to the Syrian regime’s secrecy in providing details of their names, fate and locations. AGPS has recorded the detention of 1639 Palestinians in the Syrian prisons, of which 105 are women.
