After being released from Kurdistan Iraq’s prisons, a Palestinian-Syrian faces the risk of being forcibly displaced

Sources have confirmed to AGPS the release of the 23 year old Palestinian refugee “Ahmed Al-Barhoumy” from the Kurdistan Iraq prisons. The resident of Khan Al-Sheih camp in the Damascus suburbs was detained in mid-September while attempting to reach Turkey through Kurdistan.

The sources added that the security forces informed Al-Barhoumy that he will leave Kurdistan Iraq on Thursday 26-10 to an unknown country. The sources expect that he will be displaced to Lebanon.

The Lebanese authorities usually deport Syrian Palestinian refugees as soon as they arrive at the Rafic Al-Hariri Airport towards the Syrian border, without taking into account the psychological state of the displaced refugee and the risks they may face when entering Syria.
