Deputy Commissioner-General of UNRWA visits Sabinah camp in the Damascus suburbs

In the Damascus suburbs, the Deputy Commissioner-General of UNRWA visited the Sabinah area and its camp, where he learned about the living conditions of Palestinian refugees who had recently returned to it and the difficulties they face. During his visit, he inspected the educational facilities, the Health Center and the Agency's Development Center, as well as the water wells and main reservoir for the camp.

In a conclusion to his visit, the Deputy Commissioner-General of UNRWA promised the residents to transfer their suffering to the higher authorities of UNRWA and to provide all forms of support to assist them within the Agency's capabilities.

In the meantime, UNRWA’s schools - Al-Soforeya and Al-Saleheya - in Sabinah welcomed its students on Sunday 15-10-2017, after being closed for over four years. UNRWA called on the parents of the Sabinah schools affiliated to the agency to review the schools’ administration for approval to transfer their children to Sabinah schools.
