In the western Yarmouk basin, our correspondent reported that residents of Al-Muzayrib woke up yesterday to the news of the assassination of a young man from the eastern Karak area, raising a state of fear and anxiety among the Palestinian refugees and the people of the region, because of the continuing series of assassinations in the region.
Our correspondent added that an unknown group was traveling in a white Toyota Hilux car and assassinated “Bassil Khalifa,” fleeing without knowing the identity of the perpetrators.
The areas controlled by the opposition in general, Al-Muzayrib in particular, are witnessing an increase in the level of assassinations targeting the residents. One of the residents described it as threatening to the town, especially that the perpetrator and the party behind it are unknown, in light of the security chaos witnessed by the region.
Activists are accusing the Syrian security of being behind the assassinations and placing improvised explosive devices in the areas controlled by the opposition. Others attributed it to a standoff with armed opposition groups, while other activists accused the foreign intelligence agencies, which are active in southern Syria, according to the activists.
