The Yarmouk Camp: Clear Availability to the Charity and Civil Organizations and Modest Availability for UNRWA and International Organizations.

The residents of the Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees in southern of Damascus returned to stand in long queues in order to get a little amount of soup and spices due to the stop of UNRWA aids distribution for more than two months and a half respectively and the continuation of the siege that is imposed on the Yarmouk camp since 604 days respectively.

In light of the absence of the required role of the international and official organizations such as UNRWA and the Public Commission of the Palestinian Refugees due to the prevention of the Syrian regime to enter the aids to the camp, a number of charity, civil and relief organizations and independent committees though their lack of potentials they provided the camp with the social and humanitarian services such as health and education to the remaining Palestinian refugees inside the camp.

The Palestine Charity Commission, the Commission of the Palestinian People Relief, Jafra organization for Relief and Development and other committees inside the camp distributed a number of food packages and food vouchers after they bought them from the crises merchants with double prices and they held teaching sessions in the mosques and houses and they also secured drinking water for the residents of the camp.

The commissions and organizations have conducted the activities that the Yarmouk Municipality Local Committee should do such as managing the public facilities inside the camp. The Municipality Committee stopped working anything in the camp including health and services which led to pile up the garbage, the medical waste and the damage rebels in the streets and lanes of the camp that bodes of a big humanitarian and environmental catastrophe. This prompted the volunteers from the residents of the camp to do this task and to perform cleaning campaigns titled as “Roll up Your Sleeves and Clean” that was done by the Charity Commission for the Relief of the Palestinian People. On the other hand, the water cut on the houses of the Yarmouk camp since 147 days respectively, the power cut and shortage of basic services led to the appearance of diseases due to water cut such as kidney and pancreas or diseases due to uncleanness such as skin diseases.
