The Syrian regime closed the Babilla-Sidi Mekdad checkpoint, as the Syrian opposition forces partially opened the Beirut checkpoint between Yarmouk camp and Yelda town, before yesterday’s sunset, allowing the civilians to pass to and from the camp. The regime prevented some civilians from the residents of the towns of Babilla and Beit Sahm who went out to Damascus, from returning to these towns.
On their part, activists and media people from several areas held a meeting to study the situation in south Damascus. They agreed to form a committee to meet with the leaders of military factions and concerned parties, to find a radical solution to the issue of opening and closing the only crossing between Yarmouk and Yelda and to take practical steps to prevent the repetition of its closure, demanding the neutralization of civilians and their non-involvement in military conflicts.
