The continued closure of the only outlet for Yarmouk camp threatens the lives of more than 3000 besieged people

The military gatherings of the towns south of Damascus, continue to close the only outlet for Yarmouk camp for the second consecutive day, in front of civilian residents of the besieged camp.

Our correspondent said that the armed opposition groups placed more barricades and barrels in the area surrounding the only crossing that links between Yarmouk camp and Yelda, after it had been open for several days for civilians to use.

Activists confirmed to AGPS that the closure of the crossing by the armed Syrian opposition factions in the towns of south Damascus, came after an agreement with the Syrian regime. The latter  gave the opposition groups the choice to either close the Yelda/Yarmouk camp barrier, or that the regime closes the Beit Sahm barrier.

More than three thousand families are living in inhuman conditions, of which 35 families have been living under ISIS’s siege for more than a month, in the west area of Yarmouk camp, which is controlled by “Al-Nusra” Front. Their fate remains mysterious.
