From the Yarmouk Records (238) the Yarmouk and the Martyr "Abu Asif".

By Ali Bidwan

Abu Asif, Nemer Al Hussein, a martyr at the Yarmouk land, a good neighbor and person, from the notables of the Yarmouk, a man of values, morals, and principles, an Arabic language teacher in the high schools of Damascus and all other schools. After he graduated from the faculty of literature, Damascus University, Arabic language department, he worked as a teacher before he joined the Army as a volunteer and served for more than 30 years. His service ended up as a Brigadier General, and was discharged a few years ago.

Abu Asif "Nemer Al Hussein," a descendant of a fighting Palestinian family, his father was from a cohort of the Palestinian Mujahedeen and revolutions before the Nakba. He is from (Ain Ghazal) town, Haifa, Mothallath Al Carmel; the same town of the great literary critic Ihsan Abbas, which is located southeast of the Carmel Mount, and expanding until the beach of the Mediterranean Sea, and the Haifa Beach.

Abu Asif is the brother of the Major General Khalid Hussein, who was the bodyguard of the late President Hafez Al-Assad for more than 35 years, and the brother of my friend, brother, and colleague in primary school, preparatory and secondary schools in Yarmouk camp,Doctor Colonel Ali Hussein. His sister "Kamila Hussein" was martyred several months ago in Yarmouk.

Abu Asif refused to leave the Yarmouk camp and stayed with the rest of his people during the difficult days that passed and still passing inside the lanes, alleys, and streets of the Yarmouk camp. He dedicated himself to the people, as he was always at the forefront of martyrs' mourners in Yarmouk and in the forefront of the participants in the national events.  He also performed his social, national, and public role in order to save the Yarmouk, ahead of rows between the men and the youth of the Yarmouk in the search for a political peaceful solution in order to neutralize the Yarmouk refugee camp and its residents from the general paths of the crisis in the country.

He was a kind friend for all people without exception, he did not hesitate to help everyone, and was a friend of my family and my brothers, we used to see him every day in the morning, noon, and night, in our camp, and in the mosque, which he used to pray there; such as beloved Prophet Mohammed “PBUH” Mosque and Al Rojoula Mosque. Our last night with him in the presence of a number of the Yarmouk men in our authentic neighbor's house Aziz Alyafawi (Abu UsmanSardar) few days before the plight of the Yarmouk.

Abu Asif "Nemer Hussein" has gone similarly as to the martyr Abu Ahmed Tirawih, Fatah official in Yarmouk, Abu Abed Arisha, Abdul Karim, Abu Khattab, AymanJouda, GhassanShihabi ..., and others. All of them gone with the same treacherous and sinful bullets that targeted him near his home that is about a hundred meters away from our destroyed building at the entrances of the Yarmouk Street. He was killed on Wednesday morning, 11th of February 2015, as his pure blood irrigated the land of the Yarmouk refugee camp, the Revolution camp and martyrs, the Diaspora camp, and the capital of return, Haifa, Jaffa, Acre, Safed, Lid, Ramla camps and the All-Palestine.

Peace be upon him, patience and fortitude be upon his family, the aromatic and good reputationbe upon his people in the Yarmouk refugee camp, and the whole Palestinian communities over the Syrian territory.
