Palestinian students in UNRWA’s schools in Aleppo, suffered during the first half of the academic year 2016-2017 because of the severe cold during the months of winter, due to the lack of heating materials in their schools. The students’ parents and a number of activists added that the heaters in the classrooms are empty of diesel “mazut” and that their children are finding it difficult to continue their schooling because of the cold and low temperatures.
The educational process in Syria deteriorated because of the war raging in it for nearly six years. UNICEF’s statistics revealed that almost 2 million Syrian children have not enrolled in schools.
