Severe lack of food supplies following the siege on Yarmouk camp in Damascus

The remaining residents of Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria are living in distress because of the severe siege imposed by the Syrian regime and a number of the Palestinian factions affiliated to it, and the closure of the Yelda - Yarmouk barrier, which is considered the only port for the entry of food from the neighboring towns dominated by the armed Syrian opposition groups, to the camp’s besieged residents.

According to our reporter, the barrier remains closed to this day, which has resulted in the diminishing of most of the food supplies, although the camp had already suffered from its scarcity due to the siege imposed by the regime on its entrances.

The camp’s residents have renewed their calls to the different groups that have imposed the siege on them, about the need to lift the siege on them and to keep them far from any consequences resulting from the conflict between them.
