ISIS launched a detention campaign in 2016, in which a number of residents of Yarmouk camp were detained. On 28-07-2016, almost 50 civilians from the camp for smoking in public places. ISIS also detained all of those who were arrested while smoking for a maximum of five days a minimum of one day.
ISIS performed a number of violations towards the civilians inside the camp, after it became in control of it in April 2015.
