Students of Handarat camp in Aleppo demand the reconstruction of their destroyed schools

The students of the Handarat camp for Palestinian refugees in Aleppo, have demanded the reconstruction of their destroyed educational schools. 145 students from the Handarat camp in Aleppo, have started attending at the Makama School, which is inside one of the destroyed houses in the camp that does not have windows, doors, water or a heating system.

The teachers and students considered it a challenge and determination to resume their education, no matter the circumstances, calling on UNRWA and the concerned parties to rebuild their destructed schools.

After its visit to the camp, the Charitable Association for Palestinian Relief called out for donations to guarantee that the school is equipped with basic supplies such as windows, doors and means of heating, in addition to providing them with winter coats to protect them from the harsh winter cold.

Testimonies of the camp’s residents that recently returned to it, reveal that 90% of its buildings are completely or partially destroyed, due to the fighting that broke out inside it, and the Syrian regime targeting it using rockets and explosive cylinders.

Despite the total or partial destruction of 90% of its buildings, more than 150 families returned to the Handarat camp for Palestinian refugees in the recent past.
