In north Syria, the Palestinians in Syria Relief and Development Association organized a protest and sit-in in the center of Azaz, in the northern suburbs of Aleppo, to condemn the decision. The sit-in included speeches by activists from Syria and Palestine.
The protesters carried banners saying: “Those who recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel will not be supporters of our revolution,” “Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine” and “The cases of Palestine and Syria is a matter of freedom and dignity."
Hundreds of Palestinian families have fled to the north of Syria, fearing the bombardments and siege that have affected their camps, or have been forced to immigrate, as the case in the Khan Al-Sheih camp for Palestinian refugees, in the suburbs of Damascus.
