The Action Group’s correspondent in south Damascus said that a heavy bombardment with artillery and mortar shells, hit the Tadamon neighborhood and the outskirts of Yarmouk camp, (Palestine Street and the Martyrs sector), on Wednesday-Thursday night.
There was also a surge of smoke in Al-Hajar Al-Aswad, adjacent to the camp resulting from its targeting with a very heavy “elephant” land-to-land missile, whose damage was limited to material.
Our reporter added that the regime forces bombarded residential building in Al-Hajar Al-Aswad, the day before yesterday, as well as some buildings in Yarmouk camp with medium-14.5 caliber machine guns, and 23 mm caliber, heavy machine guns.
Yarmouk camp and the Tadamon neighborhood saw an elevation in the intensity of the bombardments and clashes, after members of ISIS launched a surprise attack on the Syrian regime’s checkpoint in the Nisreen neighborhood on the 11th of December, in addition to taking control over a number of building blocks in the neighborhood.
