Athens’ Municipality announces measures to protect refugees from cold weather

The municipal authorities in the Greek capital Athens, announced its measures to protect the refugees and other poor categories in the capital, from the cold weather.

The municipal authorities stated that a heated hall will be open for the people, in the Athens Culture Center, located in the Academy Street, on Friday 22-12-2017 at 10pm, and that those in need can call the helpline 1595 for information.

The authorities also said that the municipal groups will be active in the city, in search of the homeless to provide them with blankets, clothes and information about the organized shelters that will accommodate the refugees and homeless people.

While thousands of refugees, including more than 500 Palestinian-Syrian refugees, are living in difficult conditions on the Greek Islands, awaiting the decision of their transfer to the capital, Athens.
