The Action Group’s correspondent in south Damascus, has reported that a violent bombardment using artillery shells and gas cylinders, targeted the Tadamon neighborhood and the outskirts of Yarmouk camp (Palestine Street and the Martyrs Sector), through Wednesday-Thursday night. Fire broke out in one of the residential buildings in the Tadamon neighborhood, as a result of the bombardment, and no injuries have been reported.
Our reporter added that the shelling came from the center point of the so-called “National Defense Committees,” which is affiliated to the Syrian regime and located in the Nisreen neighborhood. Yarmouk camp and the Tadamon neighborhood have witnessed a sharp escalation in the intensity of the clashes and shelling, after members of ISIS launched a surprise attack on one of the regime forces’ checkpoints in the Nisreen neighborhood on 11th of December, and took control over a number of building blocks in the neighborhood.
