Syrian security releases a detainee from Al-Aedin camp in Homs

Syrian security released the Palestinian refugee “Maher Darwish,” from Al-Aedin camp in Homs, on Sunday 4th of February 2018, after being detained for almost three years. He is a member of one of the factions affiliated to the Syrian regime and is in his late 30s. He originates from Safad city in Palestine.

On their part, the residents of Al-Aedin refugee camp in Homs are complaining of the raids and arrests carried out by the Syrian regime forces from time to time on their houses, in addition to the tight security procedures imposed by the regime on the camp. The Syrian security services placed metal fences and mud on its surroundings, making specific outlets in them for the residents of the camp to pass through. This came under the pretext that it is to protect the area from the armed opposition groups.
