Palestinians of Syria in Egypt… continued legal, economic and living suffering

The Palestinian-Syrians in Egypt are complaining from the weak official representation. A number of refugees confirmed to AGPS the dereliction of the Palestinian Embassy in Cairo, the PLO and the international institutions in addressing their living and legal problems.

The problems of Palestinian-Syrians in Egypt are focused on the economic and legal aspects, where the Palestinian refugees face many obstacles while trying to obtain residency in Egypt, despite meeting the conditions required for residency.

On the economic level, they are suffering because of UNRWA’s total absence, under the pretext the Egypt lies outside the work areas of the Agency responsible for Palestinian refugees.

According to unofficial statistics, the number of Palestinian-Syrian refugees in Egypt is estimated at 6 thousand refugees.
