8 mortars fall on Jaramana camp, killing a Palestinian and injuring many

Palestinian man, “Zaher Bru,” from the Jaramana camp for Palestinian refugees in the suburbs of Damascus, has died in a bombardment that hit the camp yesterday.

According to the residents of the camp, the armed opposition factions in Ghouta targeted Jaramana camp with more than 8 mortar shells, injuring many civilians including children. As a state of tension prevails inside the camp because of the continued bombardments and the ongoing military actions targeting the eastern Ghouta.

Palestinian children, Qosay Haitham Hamady Mohammed,” 14 years of age, and Bahaa El-Din Mohannad Hamady Mohammed,” 15 years of age, died on 20/02/2018, after a mortar shell fell on the Jaramana region in the suburbs of Damascus.

In another context, the residents of the camp are suffering from miserable living conditions, due to the ongoing conflict in Syria and the spread of unemployment among them, making them unable to secure their basic life necessities, as a result of the high prices and lack of resources.

Jaramana camp receives thousands of families from the Palestinian camps and its adjacent areas, who flee the deteriorating security conditions there.
