More than 300 Palestinians missing since the beginning of the Syrian war

The Action Group’s Monitoring and Documentation Team revealed that documentation of 307 missing Palestinian refugees since the start of the war in Syria, of which 38 are females. The Group noted that more than half of those missing are from Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees in the south of Damascus.

Activists accused the factions affiliated to the Syrian regime of kidnapping and arresting, either because the missing is required by the Syrian security, or to bargain with the abducted person’s family and request a ransom to release him.

In addition, there are a large number of missing persons in the prisons of the Syrian regime, whose fate and locations are still kept hidden by the security forces. This was confirmed by the testimonies of those released from the Syrian regime prisons, who revealed that a number of Palestinian refugees placed on the lists of missing people, were inside the prisons.

The Action Group’s Monitoring and Documentation Team confirmed that the actual number is much greater than this, since the Syrian security and its affiliated factions keep hiding the fate of the kidnapped Palestinians, in addition to a number of Palestinian refugees who were kidnapped by Al-Nusra Front in Yarmouk camp and ISIS.
