Japan donates 600 thousand dollars to support the education of Palestinian-Syrian children

UNRWA has revealed that the Japanese government donated 23.5 million dollars to UNRWA, adding that a sum of 600,000 dollars will be specialized for the support of the education of Palestinian refugee children, who were affected by the conflict in Syria. 19 million dollars will be allotted to UNRWA’s main program in the areas of education, health care and improving living conditions, for a total of 3.5 million refugees from Palestine, across the territories of its operations.

UNRWA indicated that this Japanese donation will have a direct positive impact, on the welfare of some of the most vulnerable people in the Middle East. An additional $ 5.3 million will be allocated to improve the quality of UNRWA’s health services in the occupied Palestinian territory, Lebanon and Syria and another $1 million to help meet the critical needs in the Wavel camp in Lebanon.
