The camp witnessed renewed fighting between ISIS and members of the Syrian regime forces and its affiliated Palestinian factions yesterday night, where clashes broke out between the two sides at the Martyrs’ sector inside the camp. Machine-gun fire accompanied by the sound of mortars shells were used, targeting different areas of the camp, amid unconfirmed reports of an agreement between ISIS and the regime on a truce.
This comes in conjunction with the armed Syrian opposition groups’ total closure of the Orouba checkpoint using dirt mounds, and thus the opposition has closed the last port that connects between Yarmouk camp and the neighboring towns, which is expected to aggravate the suffering of the residents significantly, especially to obtain the medicine needed by the patients and providing the necessary food supplies.
