Approximately 400 Palestinian-Syrian refugees are stranded on the Greek islands (Chios, Samos and Lesbos-Mytilene), are suffering from severe humanitarian conditions as a result of their marginalization and the lack of aid reaching them by the Greek government, which is now dealing with their asylum requests on the island of Chios in Greece, very slowly due to the large number of refugees.
On his part, one of the Palestinian-Syrian refugees stranded on Chios Island stated that Greek authorities deliberately neglects them and refuses to transfer them from the islands to the Greek cities, adding that a number of refugees got an approval three months ago to be transferred to Athens, however the Greek government did not implement the decision.
A group of refugees organized a peaceful protest on 15-11-2017, against their terrible conditions in Chios, and the slow procedures of solving the refugees’ cases in Vial camp, on the Greek Island of Chios.
