The Action Group’s correspondent in south Damascus reported that the hundreds of Palestinian families that were displaced from Yarmouk camp to the neighboring towns of Yelda, Babilla and Beit Sahm, because of the latest wave of bombardments and fighting, are living in dire humanitarian conditions as a result of the lack of adequate shelters for them.
Our reporter indicated that the number of those displaced families ranges between 400 to 500 families, and a number of them have been secured in houses that are considered unfit for housing by some institutions and activists. He added that the rest of the families were hosted by their relatives or friends, while a number of families were able to find a dwelling containing some household items and utensils.
Our correspondent stressed that the displaced families are complaining of tragic living conditions, because they were prevented from taking their needs from the camp to the neighboring towns. ISIS only allowed each family to take a few clothes in only one bag, as well as one blanket with them.
Our correspondent explained that from 10-15 families were unable to obtain temporary housing in the neighboring towns, forcing them to return to the camp, despite the danger of the situation.
