Unemployment and security tightening are following Palestinian refugees in Al-Aedin camp in Homs

In central Syria, the Palestinian refugees living in Al-Aedin camp in Homs, are suffering from tough economic conditions, because of the widespread of unemployment among them. Most of them have lost their jobs over the past years, and as a result, most of the camp’s residents have become dependent on the assistance provided by UNRWA, as a primary source to guarantee their basic living needs.

The camp is also witnessing tightened security, imposed by the Syrian regime and its affiliated Palestinian factions, where there are security barriers at the entrances of the camp, at which searching of the passersby and the verification of their identities occur. Raids and arrests also occur over intermittent periods, in which refugees living in the camp are most probably arrested.
