The spokesman for the "Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad" called the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad, Ziad Al-Aloul, to provide protection for civilians in Yarmouk camp, through a Palestinian national campaign, to provide the minimum protection for the Palestinian people in various camps in Syria, especially in Yarmouk camp, which has been subjected to bombardments with various types of weapons for the seventh day, resulting in destruction and the displacement of most of its population.
Alul appealed to the strong forces on the ground in Syria, to open a safe passage for the civilians and provide food and medicine for the Palestinian refugees, calling on the UNHCR to intervene in order to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian refugees in Yarmouk camp, and put pressure on the sides of the conflict to neutralize the civilians.
Alul held the Palestinian authority and factions accountable for the protection of the remaining civilians in Yarmouk camp and the rest of the Syrian camps, calling the conflicting parties to stop targeting Yarmouk camp, and to neutralize the Palestinian refugees and their camps from the ongoing conflict in the country.
The Syrian regime launched a military operation on Yarmouk camp and the southern region on the 19th of April 2018, the aim of storming into the region and taking control of it.
