The Syrian regime allowed more than 60 civilians, including children, women and elderly people, to cross from Yarmouk camp to the neighboring town of Yelda, after being detained a few days ago for a number of hours, while they attempted to leave through the Orouba checkpoint to the southern towns of Yelda, Babilla and Beit Sahm.
According to sources in south Damascus, the regime previously banned them from leaving Yarmouk camp. However, after local mediation, they were allowed to enter the neighboring town of Yelda via the Oroua checkpoint, which lately fell under the control of the Syrian regime.
The sources confirmed that most of the civilians suffer from medical conditions, including 10 people who were injured during the Syrian regime and its loyal factions’ bombardment of Yarmouk camp.
