UN: Hardly any building in Yarmouk camp has not been damaged or destroyed

The United Nations Organization stated on Monday that Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees in Damascus is “in total destruction.”

This came during a press conference that was held in the headquarters of the UN in New York, in which the Spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General, Stephen Dugrick, stated that Yarmouk camp is in a state of “total destruction and there is not a single building that has not been damaged or destroyed.”

Dugrick added: “The fighting was fierce, especially last month, and almost all of the Palestinian refugees who were in the camp fled it. This indicates the urgent need to fund UNRWA's emergency appeal.”
