In the Syrian north, elderly man “Abu Aziz Al-Shehaby,” displaced from south Damascus to the Deir Balout camp in the Syrian north, drowned to death while trying to save the life of a young man from drowning in the river near the camp.
This is the second case similar case, where a resident of south Damascus has drowned in the adjacent river to Deir Balout camp, where people swim in the river in order to relieve themselves of the high temperatures in the camp's tents, in which they suffer from difficult living conditions.
